Behind The Scenes with Golden Globe Winner Jodie Foster

Jodie and Alex's glam was effortless.

Being an LA based makeup artist, awards season is always a mixed bag. If one of your main actresses is in a project with award buzz, it’s a busy time doing a lot of press and rally for the show itself.

The pandemic has changed things considerably with much less in person presenting and no red carpet. I did Jean Smart for this year’s Emmys where she was nominated for HBO’s “Watchmen” and Reba McEntire for the County Music Association Awards where she hosted, so I’ve definitely dipped my toe in this “new normal” for a few of these ceremonies.

For the Golden Globes this year I had the honor to glam Jodie Foster who was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her new flick “The Mauritanian” and her wife, Alex. They had the cute idea to be on camera together with their pup, Ziggy. Even better yet, they wore pajamas albeit satin and Prada…but PJs nonetheless!

For makeup and hair we chatted about doing something high style as winky irony to the casual wear. We opted to do a soft, taupe smoked eye on Jodie with clean blow out to her bob and Alex would be subtle dewy and lightly bronzed.

They really are a striking couple.

Since Jodie really didn’t feel like she was a frontrunner there was a totally chill and easy vibe. The cutest moment of the evening was when they announced her name as the Golden Globe winner. Her surprise and joy are undeniable. I just had to take a little behind-the-scenes video of the cutest acceptance speech ever! Can we talk about how remarkable their kiss was?

Her movie, The Mauritanian, is available on VOD and it’s definitely worth a watch.
