Cherry Bomb: HUNY XO x Maya Universe
The last weekend of Pride Month + fresh off Juneteenth = the perfect time for baddie techno. June has been absolute pandemonium for The MoB and, if we had some common sense, we’d slow it down. But nah, it’s go big or go home around here, so we’re ending it with a bang.
This month’s Cherry Bomb is brought to you by two Black queer femmes who give it to you hard and CUNNNTTT every time and it’s not their first time pairing up to cause a lil commotion. It’s giving final boss level.
HUNY XO x Maya Universe on their worst behavior: Saturday, June 27, 10pm-2am, at Spirit (243 51st Street). Get ready to rage. No filler, all killer. The oontz oontz is Black AF.
Oh AND? We will be upstairs in The Hall for this one. BIGGER. MOAR BOOMIN.

Asa Jean

ABOUT CHERRY BOMB:
Cherry Bomb originally ran from 2021-2023; the first event at Spirit post-pandemic. HUNY XO was awarded Pittsburgh’s Person of the Year in Music in 2021 for reinvigorating the city’s nightlife scene through Cherry Bomb. The residency’s cohort of artists, both PGH-based and national, and many of whom count CB as their first out-of-town residency or big break, have played The Renaissance World Tour, Berghain, Lot Radio, Boiler Room, Hood Rave, Honcho Campout, Basement, and so much more.
In 2025, Cherry Bomb came out of a 2-year hiatus with 2 iconic 2-floor bangers. And now, in 2026, we’re back at it monthly with the exact same mission: to champion the Black AF roots of electronic dance music and remind PGH what the present and future of the underground sounds like (and who it belongs to).
