Forest Hills Pride Returns for Third Year of Community Celebration

The volunteer-run celebration returns June 28 with drag, disco, food, and family-friendly activities as organizers continue building LGBTQ+ community and visibility in Forest Hills.

Forest Hills Pride will return to the borough on Sunday, June 28, marking the third year of a grassroots celebration that organizers say continues to grow alongside the community it serves.

The free event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Westinghouse Lodge in Forest Hills and will feature live entertainment, local vendors, food trucks, family activities, and opportunities for LGBTQ2SIA+ residents and allies to connect.

What began as a volunteer-led effort in 2024 has quickly become a fixture of the eastern suburbs’ Pride season. Organizers say the annual gathering is designed to create visible, welcoming spaces for queer people and their families while strengthening connections throughout the neighborhood.

“Visibility isn’t just important; it’s essential,” the Forest Hills Pride organizing team said in a statement. “We’re here to honor our history, raise awareness, and make sure every single person in our neighborhood feels seen, safe, and celebrated.”

This year’s entertainment lineup includes a performance by local drag artist Chi Chi de Vivre, a returning favorite at the event, along with music from Dancing Queen, Pittsburgh’s disco-themed dance party known for spinning classic hits.

In addition to the main stage programming, attendees can browse booths hosted by community organizations and local vendors while enjoying food from area trucks. Organizers are also planning activities for children, reinforcing the event’s family-friendly focus.

Forest Hills Pride remains entirely volunteer-run, with organizers emphasizing a mission of fostering LGBTQIA2S+ visibility, inclusion, and connection throughout Forest Hills and neighboring communities.

As Pride celebrations continue across the Pittsburgh region, events like Forest Hills Pride highlight the growing presence of LGBTQ+ community-building efforts in suburban neighborhoods, creating opportunities for residents to celebrate closer to home.
