Faces & Places: Glitter, Glamour, and Home Run Eleganza at Gloves and Glitter 2026

The Steel City Softball League brought together drag, softball, and community fundraising for the second annual Gloves and Glitter game on Sunday, June 14, at Les Getz Memorial Park in Swissvale. Hosted by Pittsburgh’s dazzling comedy queen Dixie Surewood, the afternoon featured SCSL players trading their uniforms for drag personas as amateur queens and kings took to the diamond for an afternoon of laughs, glamour, and surprisingly competitive softball. From dazzling looks to dramatic slides, Gloves and Glitter proved once again that Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ+ community knows how to turn a fundraiser into a full-scale spectacle.
