Weekend Plans?

Musical support, opening of new spaces, hikes in nature, drag shows, virtual shows and a chance to volunteer to give back to the community are just some of the many things happening this weekend for the LGBTQ Community.

Virtual Music Support Group

Friday 5:30 – 6:30 PM, virtual

Proud Haven is doing music with Mary and Sophia 5:30-6:30 on Friday virtually. Please contact avid@wcspittsburgh.org for Zoom details.


P Town Baum Shelter

Friday 8:00 – 11:00 PM, P Town

P Town is debuting their new space during a soft opening tonight of their Baum Shelter bar. The doors will be unlocked at 8:00 PM for this moody, gritty space. All social distancing, food and mask rules will apply in the Baum Shelter as well.


Queer Hike Meet Up

Saturday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Frick Park

The Hugh Lane Foundation is hosting an energizing outdoor adventure at Frick Park. This hike meet up is for Queer and Trans Adults in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. They will explore some cool trails, identify some plants, and enjoy the company of others while practicing social distancing. MASK and RSVP Required!


Drag Queen Story Time

Saturday 3:00 – 5:00 PM, virtual

The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents a virtual Drag Queen Story Time with Pittsburgh’s own twenty-one year drag veteran and pageant winner Akasha L. Van Cartier! Each story time, Akasha will be joined by current reigning Miss P-Town Leia Way LeStat to share two stories along with songs and dances to engage your child.

Featured books will be “Black Is a Rainbow Color”, “Julian Is a Mermaid” and “Americans Making History”.


Drag & Dine @ Brewer’s

Saturday 6:30 – 830 PM & 9:00 – 11:00 PM, Brewer’s

Come enjoy the Brewers Bombshells as they drag their way back into your hearts with 2 Drag dinners to enjoy the new food menu available, new slushie drinks, and a revamped facility! Brewers has undergone a face lift during quarantine and you’ll be sure to enjoy the Pittsburgh views from the patio or the queens from the reserved dining area.

It’s time for the Halloween extravaganza you didn’t know you didn’t want! Tune in to He-Be Jeebies, a night of debauchery, fun, spookiness and nostalgic feelings for Halloweens past. Think old timey decorations, the smell of fall, dancing skeletons, some witches, maybe even a werewolf or two!Presented by He-Be Buffay, your hostess for the evening, join her as she spins a tale about her favorite night of the year, with a surprise guest appearance or two! Gay for Good Pittsburgh + Hilltop Urban Farm Work Day

Sunday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 700 Cresswell Street

Join G4G Pittsburgh as they partner with Hilltop Urban Farm.

Hilltop Urban Farm is America’s largest urban farm, featuring a CSA farm, Farmer Incubation Program, and Youth Farm. A project of Hilltop Alliance in South Pittsburgh’s Hilltop.

G4G will be preparing beds for the winter, clearing leftover crops to be composted, clearing bricks out of new fields, doing maintenance work in the orchards and much more.

The farm is 23 acres, social distancing should not be a concern. We ask that you still wear masks. Things you need to know; wear close toe shoes, long pants, bring work gloves and bring water. Can’t wait to see everyone!

The Steelers will be starting at 1 pm, so Aggy will be providing providing Pre-game and Half-time entertainment. You can enjoy our Brunch and Specialty Cocktails (11 – 2 pm) , the Steelers, and a great show….sounds like a recipe for a memorable Sunday! Remember your mask, and that having a meal is required. Monday morning

Pulling the balls at OUTrageous Bingo with Rick Allison. Rick has been calling the monthly OUTrageous Bingo for 27 years, which raises money for the Shepherd Wellness Community and the Pittsburgh Equality Center. Rick takes us through the origins of this LGBTQ Pittsburgh institution beginning on December 6, 1997, the opening bingo pledge, the unique games played, and the guest bingo callers throughout the years.
