Meet the Readers:
NSAI TEMKO (they/she) is a 23-year-old Black and queer artist focused on telling stories that bring people closer to each other and the environment. They started in the Pittsburgh art scene at 15 making poetry zines. Their stories focus on super-powered Black women loving themselves, saving the world, and falling in love.

BELLA (they/them) is a Pittsburgh-based short fiction writer originally from Ellwood City, PA, whose work primarily focuses on the surrealism of queer life in rural America. They were the first-place recipient of the University of Pittsburgh’s Taube Award in Fiction in 2024. They are about to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Pitt this spring!

AUGUST (they/them) has been telling stories since they could speak their first language. They are 29, neurodivergent, and queen, born in North Virginia and raised in West Virginia. They write poems and stories based on their darkest dreams and sweetest nightmares. On weekends with a lovely-smelling candle, Japanese tunes, and their demon abby disguised as a cat by their side, August enjoys crocheting, painting, playing their Switch, and word vomiting into the notes app.

KARNY (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in performance and poetry. By combining the materiality of forms such as painting, sculpture, tattooing, and movement, the projects reconfigured and present internal experiences into something to be directly and collectively experienced by others.

About the organizer:
AMARI ONYX (he/they) is a Black trans poet & multi-form artist from California studying poetry at The University of Pittsburgh. Their poetics center the reality of being alive in their body. Poems and community sustain their existence, which inspired the creation of meTamorphosis. They uplift QTBIPOC books via @trustyourwings.books and photograph the queer mundane via @flutterby.film on Instagram. On any given day, you can find him reading, sewing, or voguing around Pittsburgh.
