Etna Borough Passes LGBTQ Inclusive Nondiscrimination Ordinance

Last night, the Etna Borough Council voted 8 – 1 to adopt an LGBTQ inclusive nondiscrimination ordinance. Etna is now the 61st municipality in Pennsylvania to pass such an ordinance. Council member Jessica Semler spearheaded the ordinance, as an out bi elected official.

You will remember that Sharpsburg Borough failed to pass a similar ordinance last month. Still, shame on Sharpsburg.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community at Duquesne University were concerned and fearful after a photo began circulating the student body that many initially, and inaccurately, interpreted to depict Duquesne President Ken Gormley at a Trump-hosted inauguration event for his biggest supporters.
