Queer Pittsburgh Pride Guide

I’ve got my rainbow shorts purchased, a bottle of sunscreen, and a seemingly endless list of Pride events to attend this year. These are events from June 1- June 10. If we missed your event, send it to @queerpgh.com and we’ll get it on here ASAP. Let’s dive in!!

Friday, June 1


June 1 | 8:30pm-11:30pm | Ace Hotel | $5 | 18+
I don’t think you’re ready for this JELLY. Beychella is too bootylicious for ya, babe. Everything about this gets me excited. Dance, eat, drink and party with your favorites queerbies all night. Shirts are on sale to benefit the organizers SisTersPGH who also organize Peoples Pride 2k18. Table reservations are also available.

An intimate evening with Billie (Nardozzi)

June 1 | 8pm-11pm | Glitterbox | $5-10 at door
Start your Pride week off with a low-key poetry and discussion night with Billie Nardozzi. If you’ve ever crossed that awkward 5-way intersection on Bigelow, you’ve likely seen the billboard, but now you can meet the poet behind it all.

Mr Pgh Pride Drag King & Ms Pride Femme Fatale Pgh 2018 Pageant

June 1 | 7pm-11pm | Cruze Bar | $10 gets you into this and the following show | 21+
The competition determines the winners who will reign for the next year.


June 1 | 11pm-2am | Cruze Bar | $5 | 21+
After Mr. PGH Pride Drag King & Ms Pride Femme Fatale PGH are crowned, stay for more performances from the Hot Metal Hardware crew.

Saturday, June 2

Pittsburgh Legacy Ball (Bridging The Gap)

June 2 | 6pm-12am | August Wilson Center | $10
Hosted By Dalen Michael (Mayor Dalen Ebony) with MC Jack Mizrahi and Precious Ebony. Come compete for cash prizes up $1,000! This event has grown so much, they’ve had to move it to the a larger venue to accommodate

Joined by Heart: Love Will Always Win — RCC Pride Concert.

June 2-3 | 4pm | East Liberty Presbyterian Church | $10-$50
 Enjoy singing that warms the heart and brings together community with a mix of old and new songs. Renaissance City Choir’s annual Pride show is always a delight. I’ll admit I’ve shed a heart warming tear or two in their crowd.

CabaretX Presents: Gaymer Day at ArcadeX

June 2 | 9pm-12am | ArcadeX | $15 | 18+
‘Gay’mers is my new favorite queer pun. Celebrate this pride kick-off in West Mifflin at ArcadeX with a long list of incredible drag and burlesque performers, hosted by Akasha L. Van Cartier.

Splash! Pride Pittsburgh Kickoff Foam Party

June 2 | 9pm-2am | Cruze Bar | $5-$10 | +18
THIS IS A COLLEGE PARTY. Cruze Bar is extending their +18 plus nights for a special pride kick-off party full of foam and shenanigans. Literally just show up in your bathing suit, cause you’re gonna get wet, my friend.

Miss Gay Pittsburgh Teen Pride Pageant!

June 2 | 9pm-2am | The Ultra Lounge
Who will be crowned miss Gay Pittsburgh TEEN Pride? Come support young talented queens in their quest to reign. Spots are still available if you wish to compete, best of luck!

Sunday, June 3

Kierra Darshell’s DRAG Brunch

June 3 | 12pm – 2pm | Pittsburgh Improv Comedy Club | $10 | All Ages
This is Kierra’s THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY for Drag Brunch, so come show your pride. Way to keep it going, girl! This is an all ages events, AND there are $15 bottomless mimosas. Hot damn.

Senior Pride Tea Dance 

June 3 | 2pm-5pm | FREE
and Nexus organized a friendly casual gathering for LGBTQIA+ seniors. Snacks, beverages, and music provide. Be sure to RSVP with Kathi: kboyle@.org.

The Give Back Kick Back Ball!

June 3 | 7pm-1am | 5301 Butler St | $10
This is the official afterparty for the Pittsburgh Legacy Ball, because why stop once the trophies are passed out? This is going to be a main stage friendly kiki ball, more trophies and cash prizes to walk away with!

Ready, Set, Pride! with Taylor Dayne

June 3 | 6pm-11pm | Ellsworth Ave | FREE – $30 VIP | All Ages
If you’re still not feeling Pride yet, Kick Off again with Taylor-friggin-Dayne. You probably know her song Tell It to My Heart. You’ll be dancing and wondering…. Is this feeling love or just a game? There’s also a cornhole competition

Classes for Confidence: Bold Beauty for the Trans Community

June 3 | 6pm-7:30pm | Sephora – South Hills | FREE | 13+
Hey cutie, want to spiffy up for Pride? Learn how to use those brushes and foundation to try on a new look that makes you feel extra special. There are 28 spots so sign up now.

JUNE PRIDE 2018 Shine – 18+ and or new Performances

June 7 | 8pm-11pm | Cruze Bar | FREE-$5 | 18+
This is your time to SHINE. Not 21 yet, but still need a space to show off your talent? SHINE is that place. Young performers, new performers, and performers just looking to test out a new number can take to the stage. Come scout out the new talent!

Food Truck Park Rodeo with Rainbow Families

June 8 | 6:30pm-9pm | Millvale Food Truck park | Free | All Ages
Have dinner with the whole family, and them some! Food trucks, live music, and a place to meet more families that look like yours.

LGBTQ+ Pagan Round-Table

June 8 | 7:30pm-9:30pm | Moonstones | Donations | All Ages
Pagans and friends come together to discuss the intersection of LGBTQIA+ and paganism, specifically how the local community is serving its queer members.

Pride Rocks PGH

June 8 | 7:30pm-11:30am | Liberty Ave | $35 | All Ages
Liberty Ave will shut down to cars and open up to dancing and partying all weekend long starting with the dreamy electro-pop singer Troye Sivan. Joining the stage is the young Kim Petras reminiscent of pop singer Daya. Rounding out the list is singer/songwriter Leland for more poppy EDM dance.

Saturday, June 9

Pride Month: Make It a Date at Pittsburgh Glass Center

June 9 | 6pm-10pm | Pittsburgh Glass Center | $70 | 21+
Try something new for Pride. Work together and make a pride-themed sculpted glass paperweight with you favorite OKCupid date. Afterwards enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, and live entertainment. Oooh la la, sounds romantic.

Pride Rocks PGH

June 9 | 7:30pm-12:30am | Liberty Ave | All Ages
Something is in the works for this night. I guess we’ll find out? Surprise Pride! In the mean time, enjoy the line up of tables and organizations passing out information and free swag.

Peoples Pride March 2k18

June 10 | 10:30am-1pm | Freedom Corner through Downtown | FREE | All Ages
Lead by the black and brown femmes who organized People’s Pride 2k17. This march is both a celebration of roots, a march for resistance, and parade of liberation focused on the PEOPLE in the community. This year Peoples Pride March is the first march of the day!

PRIDE in the Square

June 10 | 1pm-5pm | Market Square | FREE | All Ages
Peoples Pride March ends in Market square with performances by TS Madison, Brittany Chantele, Dinosoul, and the youth at Dreams of Hope.

Rally & EQT Equality March

June 10 | 12:30pm-2:30pm | Blvd of the Allies through Downtown | FREE | All Ages
Floats, marching contingents, queer-focused and queer-friendly organizations and groups will wave their flag and hand out all the free gear you can carry. This is when I stock up on Chipotle coupons and tote bags.

DIVAS Soul Sunday’s Drag Show

June 10 | 5pm-7pm | Black Forge Coffee House | $10 | All Ages (parental discretion)
Want to avoid the sun and crowds for Pride? Come to Black Forge Coffee for drag show like no other. These ladies are draggin’ you to church, good thing it’s BYOB.

Blue Moon’s Annual Pride Show

June 10 | 11:30pm-2am | Blue Moon Bar | FREE | 21+
Blue Moon’s Annual Pride show has been a staple for capping off a weekend full of shenanigans. Come see one last show before reality sets in and you can no longer cover yourself in rainbow paint and walk around in your underwear. Well… I suppose you still could…
