The Three Rivers Pride Committee has announced that Pittsburgh PrideFest 1998 has been scheduled for June 20. Beginning at noon, the Pride Parade will march through Shadyside, down Walnut Street and Ellsworth Avenue to Mellon Park, where the annual Pride Festival will be held.
The festival will feature live entertainment, food and beverages and vendors. This year’s Pride theme is “Out in the ’Burgh.”
The Pride Committee is seeking volunteers, vendors and sponsors for this year’s event. The next committee meetings are scheduled for May 11 and May 26 at 7:30pm at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center, 5808 Forward Ave., in Squirrel Hill. All Pride Committee meetings are open to the public.
