Non Binary License Option Introduced In PA

Starting on Thursday, PennDOT now offers nonbinary as a gender identification in addition to male and female on all State issued Drivers Licenses and Identification Cards.

PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian said in a statement that it is critical to have an accurate identification card for access to employment, health care, housing and more

Anyone wanting to change their current I.D. card or license should fill out Form DL-32 and bring it to any PennDOT license center for completion.

Pennsylvania joins 16 other states in offering nonbinary as a gender identifier on state issued cards.
