Have you submitted your nominations for Allies for Health + Wellbeing’s 2024 Bright Young People? Today is the deadline to get your nominees in!
Allies for Health + Wellbeing is seeking the next class of Bright Young People to be honored at its annual benefit gala, the Free for All, set for Friday, May 3, 2024.
Introduced at Allies’ 2022 event, the Bright Young People are a constellation of excellence – people who are making a real and tangible difference in our community and working toward a bright future. The Bright Young People are making their mark through their art, their careers and their activism. Those submitting nominations should be prepared to describe how the nominee is making a difference in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania, particularly in the areas of equity and inclusion.
“We are delighted by the response our Bright Young People program has garnered so far,” said Sean DeYoung, CEO of Allies for Health + Wellbeing. “From our first group of Bright Young People in 2022 to the most recent group in 2023, we saw nominations triple. We’re looking forward to seeing the program continue to grow, and we are honored to shine a light on the incredible work young people in our community are doing.”
Allies now has honored 23 individuals as Bright Young People at its 2022 and 2023 galas, and the organization now is accepting nominations for the 2024 event. The Bright Young People will be guests at the Free for All and will be a prominent part of the evening’s festivities.
“Our annual gala has always been an opportunity for us to celebrate the people who make our work at Allies for Health + Wellbeing possible, and we are grateful for the opportunity to amplify the work of our Bright Young People as well,” DeYoung said. “We hope that as we continue the Bright Young People program, we can build long-lasting relationships and partnerships with the next generation of leaders in our community.”
