Nebby Nick checks out the new Allies for Health + Wellbeing location

The new East Liberty space gives Allies for Health + Wellbeing more room to provide affirming care, expanded services, and support for Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ+ community.

Allies for Health + Wellbeing has officially moved into a larger new space and Nebby Nick stopped by to get the full tour.

Nick visits the organization’s expanded location to learn more about the healthcare services Allies provides for LGBTQ+ people, people living with HIV, and anyone seeking inclusive, affirming care in Pittsburgh.

The new facility includes additional clinic rooms, expanded pharmacy space, more offices for staff, and room for future growth after years of fundraising and planning.

“We expanded our services to help not just people who were living with or at risk of HIV, the LGBTQ community who were looking for inclusive care, and really anyone who was at risk of STIs in addition to HIV,” Mary Beth Wyko explained.

Allies offers primary care, HIV care, gender-affirming care, gynecological care, vaccines, and walk-in services for existing primary care patients. The organization also operates a food pantry with groceries, frozen foods, and personal care items for clients.

“When you come to Allies, you’re not gonna be dead-named,” Wyko says. “We’re going to look at the whole picture and treat you as you.”

The organization says it is currently accepting new patients and has recently added new providers.

The grand opening celebration of Allies for Health + Wellbeing is today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 211 Tower in East Liberty.
