Murphy declares ‘AIDS Walk Day’

Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy has declared June 7 “Pittsburgh AIDS Walk and Community Day” in honor of the ninth annual fund-raiser to benefit the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force.

“We are thrilled with Mayor Murphy’s proclamation,” said Leah Reynolds, PATF development director. “This stands out as an example of the continued support he has shown to the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force and to our Pittsburgh AIDS Walk and Community Day.”

This year’s event, called “More Than a Walk in the Park,” will feature a children’s activity tent, strolling performers, a Community Day Cafe, a wellness pavilion and the first “living” AIDS ribbon. Proceeds from the event assist PATF and other area AIDS service organizations in providing client services, prevention and education to the residents of southwestern Pennsylvania.

See the June issue of Out for a complete schedule of events or call (412) 242-2500, ext. 122. Information also is available on the PATF Web site at www.patf.org
