JoeMyGosh and Jaxa Froot crowned jointly as Mr. And Miss Blue Moon 2024

Jaxa Froot and JoeMyGosh.

Late on Sunday night at the 2024 Blue Moon Pageant, JoeMyGosh and Jaxa Froot were jointly crowned Mr & Miss Blue Moon 2024. Not since the Glorious Revolution of 1689 gave us the joint reign of William and Mary has a joint crowning been so universally cheered.

JoeMyGosh and Jaxa Froot are two queer drag artists who do sketch comedy originally from West Virginia. The best-friend pair brought their raucous humor and drag to Pittsburgh about five years ago and earned themselves “Best Comedy Troupe” in Pittsburgh City Paper’s Best of Pittsburgh 2022.

“We promised to bring camp and here we are! We are so grateful to be your new Mr. And Mrs. Blue Moon 2024. Thank you so much to Blue Moon Bar and Andrew Henderson for giving us a queer space to call home,” the duo posted on social media. “We want to say that this would not have been possible without a few very amazing friends who helped execute this entire operation: Em, Jared Walker, Zoë Lambert, Italia Nowicki, Billy Jo Molinari, Killian, Oddriana Queen, and Holly Anne.”

“From the bottom of my cold, rotted heart, thank you all so, so, so very much,” said JoeMyGosh shortly after midnight when outgoing Miss Blue Moon Akasha L. Van-Cartier crowned the pair winners.

“We started our drag journey at Blue Moon together, so to win the crown together is a full circle moment for us,” Jaxa Froot told QBurgh. “We are so grateful for all the support everyone has shown us over the years.”

“Tenacity, confidence, and kindness pays off,” said current reigning Miss P Town Indica. Retired and tired queen Scarlet Fairweather said “y’all should be so proud. Pittsburgh drag is alive and thriving!”

“More than anything, we want Pittsburgh drag to stay weird,” Jaxa concluded.

Congratulations to JoeMyGosh and Jaxa Froot. Long may they reign!
