Gertrude Stein Political Club Issues 2021 Endorsement

The members of the Gertrude Stein Political Club of Greater Pittsburgh this week announced their endorsement of candidates for the May 18th Primary Election. The Gertrude Stein Political Club is a multi-partisan organization working in electoral politics in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues and women’s rights.

The stand out endorsement was for Mayor of Pittsburgh and their statement read:

“With a measure of sorrow for what we’d envisioned over (many) endorsements for Peduto– but a greater measure of hopeful anticipation– we endorse Ed Gainey (D) for Mayor of Pittsburgh.

Other candidates that received the long-standing clubs endorsement are:

Maria McLaughlin (D) for Pennsylvania Supreme Court

Jill Beck for Pennsylvania Superior Court

Amanda Green Hawkins & David Spurgeon for Commonwealth Court

Lisa Middleman, Chelsa Wagner, Nicole Henry-Taylor, Brian Malkin, Mik Pappas, Giuseppe Rosselli, Patrick Sweeney, Sabrina Korbel for Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas

Steven Singer for Allegheny County Council

Sylvia Wilson, Terry Kennedy, Matt Rudzki, Hilary Wheatley Taylor for respective School Boards
