Community members, healthcare advocates, elected officials, and LGBTQ+ leaders gathered Friday, May 15, to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Allies for Health + Wellbeing’s new East Liberty location at 211 Tower.
The expanded space marks a major new chapter for the organization, which provides affirming healthcare services for LGBTQ+ people, people living with HIV, and anyone seeking inclusive care in Pittsburgh. The new facility includes additional clinic rooms, expanded pharmacy space, more offices for staff, and room for future growth after years of fundraising and planning.
Allies has continued expanding services beyond HIV care to include primary care, gender-affirming care, gynecological care, vaccines, and walk-in services for existing patients. The organization also operates a food pantry stocked with groceries, frozen foods, and personal care items for clients.
