Faces & Places: 25 Years of OUTrageous Bingo

Rick Allison has been pulling balls at OUTrageous Bingo for 25 years. The monthly institution that Allison helped to start with Alan Jones in 1997 has been supporting the Shepherd Wellness Community and the PGH Equality Center (then-known-as the Gay and Lesbian Community Center) for the past quarter century.

Allison says that the monthly bingos have raised over $2.5 million for the two organizations over the course of those 25 years. Others have tried to imitate or copy OUTrageous Bingo’s mix of camp, drag, and humor over the years but only OUTrageous Bingo remains as an important and successful fundraiser for the LGBTQ Community of Pittsburgh.

Rick is joined monthly by the Nuns of Steel, the Pittsburgh house of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and other volunteers coordinated by Rob Webb.

The Three Rivers Leather Club was on hand for their annual holiday toy drive collecting toys for Allegheny County Children, Youth, and Families.
