The position of part-time Coordinator of Administration requires a friendly person who works well individually and as part of a team. They will be engaging with SWC staff, the HIV community, volunteers and regional HIV/AIDS service providers. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Data entry and data management for various administrative needs.
  • Telephone: Screen and transfer calls. Provide advocacy assistance. Provide SWC information.
  • Administrative duties: Prepare reports, correspondence, database record-keeping, other as needed.

Qualifications Required:

This position requires a detail-oriented person who can carry out essential responsibilities related to administrative needs and data entry. It is a part-time paid staff position.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to climb two steep flights of stairs to the SWC office. The individual is frequently required to sit for long periods. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

$20/hour, 15-20 hours per week (as scheduled). Start date February 5, 2024.

Pitt Men’s Study Hiring Research Assistant

The Pitt Men’s Study is looking for a new Research Assistant to work in their clinic with PMS participants. Applicants must be motivated, with an interest in HIV research and working with the LGBTQ community.

The Pitt Men’s Study is a confidential research study of the natural history of HIV/AIDS, funded by the National Institutes of Health that has been ongoing in Pittsburgh since 1984. The Study has followed a cohort of approximately 3,000 men to gather information on the epidemiology, virology, immunology, and pathology of HIV.

The Study is part of a national study, the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) with sites in Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore as well as Pittsburgh, and is led by medical and social scientists. It is part of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. Participants are seen in a free-standing clinic dedicated to this research project.

The Research Assistant will assist with and adhere to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Recruits research subjects and conduct interviews and research assessments.
