For many, the heart of the holidays lies in sharing a good meal. That’s why the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation’s Rainbow Friendsgiving Bags are so special. These customized meal kits include all the ingredients for a harvest holiday feast, giving recipients the opportunity to celebrate in a way that feels uniquely theirs.
This year, the program includes even more options to suit individual needs, from a variety of menu selections to delivery options for community members who can’t pick up their bags in person. Deliveries are reserved for LGBTQ+ and HIV community members who require additional support, ensuring everyone has access to this incredible resource.
In addition to the meal packages, the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation is hosting pick-up celebrations, kicking off on Sunday, November 24, with DJ RoJo, games, food, and more! These events are a chance to bring the community together, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and pick up your Rainbow Friendsgiving Bag in style. Additional pick-up days will be available to ensure accessibility for everyone.
With food insecurity on the rise, the need for support is greater than ever. Last year, nearly 350 Rainbow Friendsgiving Bags were distributed, and this year, Hugh Lane anticipates fulfilling even more requests. To make it all happen, the program relies on the energy and dedication of volunteers.
From shopping and organizing to packing bags and making deliveries, there are plenty of ways to lend a hand. Volunteers will be active throughout the 10-day preparation process leading up to Friendsgiving, and your support can make a real difference.

By creating spaces for connection and offering meaningful support, this initiative ensures no one is left out of the season’s warmth and generosity.
