Renaissance City Choir to Sing Out for Equality, Inclusion, & Human Rights

The Renaissance City Choir, Western Pennsylvania’s only LGBTQIA+ chorus, will hold their annual Pride Concerts this Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30 at 4:00 PM, at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, with livestreaming available for Sunday’s performance.

The Renaissance City Choir is inviting the community to join them this weekend under the Direction of Dr. Kym Scott as they close out Pride Month in style featuring “Speak Out,” a selection from QUIET NO MORE: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall, “All of Me,” an invitation to lay down our judgment of others, and “Why We Sing,” – the song which embodies their theme this year of joy, building community, and giving voice to the LGBTQIA+ experience.

Through songs both classic and contemporary, the RCC will explore what drives them as artists to keep singing out for equality, inclusion, and human rights.

RCC will also premiere an original choral anthem, P.R.I.D.E., composed by choir member Amy Vermillion and Dr. Scott. The song celebrates LGBTQIA+ icons and heroes, such as Marcia P. Johnson, Harvey Milk, and Edith Windsor, while also challenging us all to support our community during these perilous times, and defend ourselves and our identities from those who seek to silence us.

Renaissance City Choir is also pleased to announce that special guest star, singer, songwriter, Warren Munroe, will be joining them for these exciting concerts.

In commemoration of the 55th Anniversary of Stonewall on 6-29, tickets can be purchased 2 for the price of 1 with the promo code: STONEWALL55 Tickets are available below.
