The Steel City Softball League (SCSL) completed their 41st Season last weekend. The final standings are now complete. “It was a great season for the League this year,” said Commissioner Ronny Campbell. “Coming out of COVID there was a lot of interest in the league this spring. Because of that interest we were able to expand by 2 teams and one old team returned in full force. Congratulations to OUT Fielders for being this year’s regular season champions”
The league continues this weekend for its annual playoffs and picnic. Since there were 14 teams, the playoffs are divided into competitive (five teams) and recreational (nine teams) brackets. Ronny would like to invite everyone to join them this Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 (rain dates are the following weekend) in North Park to cheer on your favorite team.

Also coming up for the league will be their end of season banquet and the return of their annual Steel City Softball League Pageant to be held at Brewers on September 17, starting at 6:00 PM. “The League is very glad to be welcoming back their annual Pageant after a two-year absence,” Ronny added. “We are reinstating the Pageant and it is open to all members of the Community. This year not only are we going to crown a Miss Steel City Softball which is for league members, but also a new title will make its debut, the Miss Steel City Softball Amateur which is open to any new and aspiring drag queen. We hope to see our old crowd as well as new friends for this annual celebration of the League.”
