‘End the Trans Cycle of Violence’

Demonstration and GoFundMe to help our trans brothers and sisters.

TransYouniting held a protest and demonstration Sunday at Schenley Plaze in Oakland to bring attention to and speak out against the continuing epidemic of violence towards trans people and particularly trans people of color. 17 trans people have been killed in 2021 alone.

The peaceful demonstration began in Schenley Plaze and then march to Fifth Avenue and then back to the plaza along Forbes Avenue.

TransYouniting has launched a GoFundMe to finance crisis services for the trans community of Pittsburgh. The first $16,000 will be used for a four bedroom apartment as crisis housing for unhoused and housing insecure trans people. Additional funds will go to housing stipends, emergency food assistance, transportation and winter supplies.
