Arcade Comedy Theater is kicking off its 9th annual Pride celebration with two headlining performances by Jess Salomon, a nationally-touring comedian and podcaster. Salomon, most recently seen on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, is bringing her signature blend of thought-provoking satire and light whimsy to Arcade for the first time. She’ll be joined by a line-up of local LGBTQIA+ plus comics, including a guest set by her wife Eman El-Husseini. Performances are Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $20 and available online.

Salomon’s path to the Arcade didn’t follow a typical stand-up comedian: she has spent her career bouncing between hosting a popular podcast, “Comedians vs The News” for BBC World Service, headlining the Just for Laughs festival, and performing in a long running two-person show with her wife, “The El-Salomons”. The duo show was originally scheduled to be a part of the Arcade’s 2020 theatrical season — which had to be canceled due to the pandemic shutdowns.

“While the pandemic forced us to change our plans over the past two years, we didn’t want to let those artistic relationships fall away,” says Mike Rubino, Director of Programming. “Jess Salomon has a compelling and hilarious approach to comedy and we are so glad she was able to still be a keystone to our Pride programming.”

Jess Salomon will be performing in the Arcade’s intimate second floor theater. This kicks off a month-long programming initiative which includes brand new improv, stand-up, and variety shows produced by local and regional artists that identify as LGBTQIA+. All shows will require audiences to wear masks and show proof of vaccination.
