On September 28, the Stonewall Alliance Board elected Steve Zanella to the role of Executive Director. Zanella previously served as Commissioner of the Sand Volleyball league for two seasons from 2018 to 2019 and has since served as Board Coordinator in an executive capacity for the Stonewall Alliance since December 2021.
When asked why he applied for the leading role of Executive Director, his response was simply “the love for the organization.” Zanella additionally emphasized that “Stonewall has helped me grow. It has helped me believe in myself and be successful in what I do.”
The selection of a new Executive Director came after the December 2021 resignation of former, long-time Executive Director Rob Anderson.
The Stonewall Alliance is the non-profit organization that oversees and coordinates all of the Stonewall Sports Pittsburgh leagues.
