Proud Haven, the safe shelter for LGBTQ youth, has launched a “Stairway to Haven” fundraiser to secure the funds for the three bedroom apartment above their space on the North Side. The space will be used for short term emergency housing for TLGBQIA+ Youth. The landlord is in the process of updating the space for the group’s needs.
Proud Haven hopes to raise $16,000 for the space. Please pitch in what you can to help with this important cause.
The organization has had a busy year. In June, Proud Haven began to also serve Adult TLGBQIA+ folks with short term emergency housing and other resources. And in July, they partnered with TransPride Pittsburgh and Trans YOUniting to create a collaborative project called Pgh YOUTH HAVEN, focused on TLGBQIA+ youth 21 years old and younger. Pgh Youth Haven has drop in times four days a week, Tuesdays through Thursdays 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Fridays 5:00 P M to 9:00 PM. Events are FREE.
You can contribute by Paypal or Venmo @ProudHaven, put “Stairway to Haven” in the comment.
