Wednesday evening the Biden-Harris campaign launched the Pittsburgh branch of the “Out for Biden-Harris” program on the North Side.

“Out for Biden” is a national organizing program to engage and mobilize LGBTQ+ voters, communities, and leaders across the country in support of the President’s reelection campaign. The launch comes alongside endorsements from seven LGBTQ+ organizations across the country, representing more than 3.8 million members who will use their resources to mobilize equality voters across every battleground state, including Pennsylvania.

“Reelecting President Biden and Vice President Harris is about protecting the freedoms that Pennsylvanians hold dear. The freedom to access the care that we need. The freedom to walk into a business without the fear of facing discrimination. The freedom to openly be yourself and love who you love,” said Pennsylvania LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus co-Chair State Representative Jessica Benham (D – South Side). “Meanwhile, you have Donald Trump, who is waging an all out assault on Americans’ health care and bragging about his plans to repeal the ACA, increase health care costs, and rip away protections from LGBTQ+ Americans.”

With more than 8% of the U.S. population, and over 20% of Americans aged 18-25 identifying as LGBTQ+, LGBTQ+ voters will be a key part of President Biden and Vice President Harris’ coalition this November – just like they were in 2020.
