The Lambda Foundation of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for its 2003 Lambda Foundation Scholarship award. Each year, Lambda awards a $3,000 scholarship to a college student who has made an outstanding contribution toward the integration of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, culture and organizations into his or her college community.
Full-time students who are currently sophomore or junior undergraduates or graduate students at accredited four-year colleges and universities in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia are encouraged to apply. When reviewing applications, the Lambda Foundation will consider the student’s social, cultural, political and/or artistic contributions to his or her campus. Academic achievement and financial need also will be factors. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin or disability.
