G4G PGH + Kingsley Association | Getting Out and Doing Good For Our Neighbors

March 7 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

G4G Pittsburgh is partnering with the Kingsley Association as team captains to help organize 300 volunteers who will be dispersed via shuttle throughout some predominantly black and poor neighborhoods.

Activities which the teams (not necessarily the captains) will do  are cleaning streets and parks, painting and gardening, organizing local facilities, and other beautification efforts. The aim is for the team captains to act as ambassadors between the volunteers and local residents, thereby “enhancing the community fabric”.

Date: Thursday, March 7
Time: 10am–2pm
Location: 6435 Frankstown Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (Parking is available on site and on the street.)

Optional Activity: On February 29, from 6:30–7pm, volunteers can take a tour of the Kingsley Association and learn more about its work. This will be followed by no-host drinks at East End Brewing Company for those 21+.

What To Wear: Comfortable clothing suitable for being outside.

Age Requirement: 18+

Project Lead: Sarah

About Our Partner: The Kingsley Association’s goal is to engage community residents and stakeholders around the Larimer Vision Plan, sustainability training, and community partnerships and events. They want to be sure that our community is the strongest voice in Larimer’s continued improvement.
