Domestic violence can happen to anyone in any relationship. At WC&S, we offer a safe environment for anyone in an LGBTQ+ abusive relationship who is seeking help. No one is turned away because of whom they choose to love; no one is judged.
Abuse in LGBTQ+ relationships happens at the same rate as in opposite-gender relationships and is just as damaging and hurtful. In fact, in some cases, they experience DV at even higher rates than others. But in these relationships, there are often extra obstacles when seeking help.
Our offsite support groups allow LGBTQ+ survivors to come together in an accessible, inviting space to relate to one another and work together through the challenges they face. The LGBTQ+ Advocate is also able to meet for counseling over the phone, offsite at safe locations, and onsite at WC&S.
Support groups and confidential individual counseling are free of cost.
