After decades of working towards justice for LGBTQIA+ people, First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh officially became a Reconciling Ministries Congregation in 2011. Reconciling Ministries Network is committed to intersectional justice across and beyond the United Methodist connection, working for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church.

First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh affirms that God’s grace is present in all people. We intentionally seek openly and fully to include all persons regardless of age, race, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, education, or economic condition.
