In the last issue of The Gay News we reported that the location of the Gay Pride Week Lesbian/Feminist Night was a private club. Just for the record, the manager (Shawn) informs us that the 1209 Bar, 1209 Fifth Avenue, Uptown is not a private club. Although the front door is kept locked at all times, there are no membership cards, dues or cover charges. The 1209 Bar is open to everyone … simply ring the doorbell and the door will be unlocked.
