Central Outreach Wellness Center has partnered with 1Hood Media to announce their Small Business Solidarity program.
The Small Business Solidarity program will spotlight one local, small business a month and encourage the community to patronize these neighborhood businesses instead of corporation whose agendas might not align with the wellbeing of the LGBTQ communities, especially the Black, queer communities.
The first small business to be spotlighted by the program is Happy Day Dessert Factory, an ice cream parlor on Western Avenue in the North Side owned by 21 year old Galen Moorer, Jr.
From September 14 to October 14 if you get a wellness screen or STI test at Central Outreach Wellness you’ll receive a voucher for free ice cream, water ice, cookies, or a milkshake from Hapy Day Dessert Factory. And a voter registration and in-person testing event will be held on September 26 at Happy Day Dessert Factory.
Central Outreach Wellness Center will allot up to $1,500 to the Factory as part of the program.
