Against the advice of probably every media consultant on Earth, we’re putting queer journalism on paper.
The first issue of the QBurgh monthly newspaper hits the streets next week, bringing local LGBTQ+ news, arts, culture, politics, events, opinion, and community stories into a format you can actually hold in your hands.
No batteries required. No pop-up ads. No algorithm deciding whether you’ll ever see it.
Just queer news printed on actual paper.
Why a newspaper?
Because queer community has always existed beyond the screen.
Long before social media, LGBTQ+ newspapers connected our communities, documented our history, announced our events, celebrated our victories, and organized resistance. Pittsburgh has a rich history of queer publications, and we’re proud to carry that tradition forward in a new way.
QBurgh has spent the last several years building Western Pennsylvania’s leading LGBTQ+ digital news source. Now we’re bringing those stories into coffee shops, community centers, bookstores, libraries, bars, campuses, and neighborhoods across the region.
Sometimes the old ways are still worth doing.

This is just the beginning.
Launching a newspaper in 2026 may sound a little ridiculous. Then again, queer people have never been especially interested in doing what’s expected.
We’ll see you next week. Bring a friend.
