Allies for Health + Wellbeing is seeking the next cohort of Bright Young People to be honored at events taking place on Friday, May 15, 2026, and Friday, April 17, 2026.
Introduced in 2022, the Bright Young People are constellation of excellence – people who are making a real and tangible difference in our community and working toward a bright future. The Bright Young People are making their mark through their art, their careers and their activism.
Those submitting nominations should be prepared to describe how the nominee is making a difference in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania, particularly in the areas of equity and inclusion.
“This year, we are celebrating our relocation to new and more effective offices at 211 Tower in East Liberty,” said Mary Bockovich, CEO of Allies for Health + Wellbeing. “As we rededicate ourselves to our mission to provide inclusive healthcare and HIV services, we think it’s only fitting to build relationships with the next generation of leaders in our community, as exemplified by the Bright Young People.”
Allies has honored 43 individuals as Bright Young People since the inception of the program, and the organization now is accepting nominations for 2026. The Bright Young People will be guests at the grand opening of Allies’ new offices at 211 Tower in East Liberty and will be able to participate in an exclusive Bright Young People mixer. The relocation project was funded by generous foundation and individual supporters who are interested in investing in Allies’ future.
The Allies’ grand opening event is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026. The Bright Young People mixer is planned for Friday, April 17, 2026.
“It is never a bad time to share the good people are doing in our community and in the world, and it’s an honor to showcase the work that the Bright Young People are doing,” Bockovich said. “To do so while welcoming the community to our new offices at 211 Tower is just icing on the cake.”
The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 13, 2026.
