Mark your calendars, Pittsburgh Pride is back, louder and prouder than ever. The organizers behind Pittsburgh Pride have officially announced the theme for this year’s celebration, “Existence is Resistance,” and are inviting the city’s LGBTQIA+ community and allies to gather in full force Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Now entering its 53rd year, Pittsburgh Pride is the largest Pride celebration in Pennsylvania. With this year’s theme, organizers are doubling down on the movement’s roots, calling on LGBTQ folks and allies alike to resist ongoing political attacks with joy, creativity, and unapologetic visibility.
“We are not afraid to fill the city streets once again,” organizers said in a statement. “Pittsburgh Pride 2026 promises to be a moment filled with joy, community, and lively performances from national headliners and hundreds of local dancers, drag artists, musicians, and creatives.”
The celebration kicks off Friday, June 5, with two events, the Pittsburgh Pride Prom and the ever-iconic Kiki Ball, bringing ballroom brilliance and prom realness to the city. The party continues all weekend at Allegheny Commons Park West, with two days of music, food, and community. And of course, no Pride would be complete without the Pittsburgh Pride March & Parade on Sunday, June 7, reclaiming public space and honoring the protests that sparked this movement decades ago.
This year’s message is clear: existing as TLGBQIA+ people in this political climate is resistance. With queer and trans rights under attack nationwide, Pittsburgh Pride is positioning itself as a public act of celebration, resistance, and survival.
“In a time where TLGBQIA+ rights are under attack, organizing queer events of this scale is a must,” said Pride organizers. “We will not be silenced or forced back into the closets. We will not only take to the streets — we will dance in them.”
As always, Pittsburgh Pride is built by the community and the organizers are calling on volunteers, vendors, artists, and sponsors to help shape the event. Whether you want to march, perform, or simply show up and show out, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
