Pittsburgh TLGBQ Emergency Rapid Response Fund Established

TransYouniting in partnership with True T PGH have established an emergency response fund for the TLGBQ Community of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. The fund will support projects, individuals, and organizations focused on timely issues that require a quick but significant response.

Over the past several years, the landscape has shifted dramatically around TLGBQ issues and the epidemic of violence towards trans women of color has grown into a crisis. The fund will be used for “community organizing efforts in response to incidents of hate and violence, significant policy changes, and other timely events that significantly impact LGBTQIA+ People of Color”, legal support for immigrants and refugees, emergency rent or utility assistance, and mental health services.

The fund will be reserved for LGBTQ identified individuals and groups and remain within the Pittsburgh region.
