Pittsburgh LGBTQ+ Coalition Protests Delta Foundation

The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh, the planing committee of Pittsburgh Pride, is no stranger to controversy and today a group of protesters marched to their door to express their frustration with a lack of inclusion and diversity from the organization.

For years the people of color and trans communities have complained that not only is Delta Foundation not transparent enough for its 501(c)3 status, that they catered to corporate interests, but also that their events were not inclusive of people of color, trans and non-binary people. The protesters said that Delta only serves an affluent white cis-gender male population of the community.

The protesters gave a list of demands to three board members present during the protest.

Interim Board President Jim Sheppard apologized and said that Delta would have a response for their concerns within 48 hours.
