With 64 teams and a vibe that’s equal parts “competitive” and “come hang out,” Stonewall Bocce is proof that community-building can be as simple as rolling a ball across a field and cheering your friends on.
Stonewall Bocce is just one of ten sports offered by Stonewall Sports Pittsburgh, a socially competitive league that puts queer joy and connection front and center. Whether you’re into volleyball, yoga, dodgeball, or just want to meet new people over some casual bocce and a beer, there’s a place for everyone. As one player put it, “It doesn’t even really matter how good you are—you just come, have fun, and meet people.” That’s the queer agenda, right?
