The Steel City Softball League hosted a mini-tournament this past weekend in West Mifflin. The event, which took place on Saturday, September 13th, saw the Little Pigs, the Rainbow Mafia, the Glitter Bombs, and the Growlers play in a round-robin style tournament. Under clear, sunny skies, the teams took to the fields for a full day of action.
The tournament culminated in a championship game between the Little Pigs and the Growlers. In a tight, back-and-forth contest, the Little Pigs ultimately came out on top with a final score of 14-10.
The mini-tournament served as a final tune-up for the Little Pigs before they head to Houston, Texas, for the International Pride Softball 48th annual Gay Softball World Series. The event is the largest annual LGBT single-sport athletic competition in the world, bringing together teams from 55 member cities across North America to compete for a championship title.
The Steel City Softball League and the broader Pittsburgh community wish the Little Pigs the best of luck as they represent the Steel City!
