The Steel City Softball League, Pittsburgh’s queer softball league, concluded its 44th season this past weekend. The league honors both Regular season Champions and Playoff Champions.
The Expendaballs won the Upper Division for the regular season, and the Little Pigs won the playoff championship.
The Middle Division witnessed new champions as the Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s clinched the regular season title, but it was the Gracie Lou Freebushes who claimed the playoff championship.
The Lower Division saw the Lucille Ballers winning both the Regular Season and Playoff Championships. The QBurgh Riveters took fourth place in the regular season and third place in the playoff championship.
The league will host a Season End Banquet at 5801 Video Lounge, where trophies and medals will be presented. Additionally, the Little Pigs will be representing the Steel City Softball League at the 2025 International Pride Gay Softball World Series in Houston, Texas at the end of September. The Little Pigs will compete among 230 teams from 56 cities across the United States and Canada. QBurgh wishes the Little Pigs the best of luck!
