CALLING ALL PITTSBURGH QUEERS! 🎃🎉
Queer To Tell is coming to your city, and we are seeking storytellers for our first “spooky season” show at Harold’s Haunt on October 23rd. 👻🔮
The theme is “It Came From The Closet” 🫣🧟♂️ — Queer people love Halloween and this is our show to tell our spookiest ghost stories, our biggest costume successes and failures, the monsters we’ve experienced in our own journeys, and any other spooky-ooky, kooky story you got.
In the show, you will perform an autobiographical story ranging from 7 – 10 minutes (3 – 5 pages) in accordance with the theme for the evening. The form of your story can range from being stand-up comedy, to a poetry slam, to an essay reading. Your story should ideally focus on one true specific moment in your life, so that the audience has a clear narrative that they can invest in. It should have a clear beginning, middle, and end. However, you can tangent slightly off the main story, if necessary, to provide details that support the main moment. Though the story must be true, feel free to bend details if needed to help streamline the story.
