Pride 2025 Press Conference

June 24 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Councilperson Barb Warwick for a press conference introducing three pieces of Legislation:

  1. Protecting LGBTQIA+ residents from Criminalization
    1. Deprioritizes enforcement of laws by higher bodies of government that could criminalize activities based on a resident’s identity
  2. Supporting Safer Sex Work
    1. Reduces the minimum penalty for consensual sex work in the city of Pittsburgh from jail time to a fine, making it easier for vulnerable workers to survive and seek help when needed.
  3. Prohibiting Identity-Based Discrimination in Medical Care
    1. Enables Pittsburgh’s Commission on Human Relations to support victims of identity-based discrimination in medical care.

Representatives from the Pittsburgh Coalition for Safer Sex Work, TransYOUniting, the Pittsburgh Commission for Human Relations, and others will speak about the need for these bills to pass as the queer community, and especially the transgender community, is increasingly under threat of criminalization and discrimination

Join us THIS Tuesday, June 24, at 9am at the City-County Building Portico — 414 Grant Street (Downtown).
