Allies for Health + Wellbeing Names Its 2026 Bright Young People

Allies for Health + Wellbeing has announced its 2026 class of Bright Young People, recognizing 12 individuals who are making significant contributions to Pittsburgh through their work in the arts, healthcare, advocacy, education, and community engagement.

Since launching the initiative in 2022, Allies has honored 43 individuals whose work advances equity and inclusion across the region. The organization describes the honorees as individuals who are “already outstanding in their fields and their communities” and who are helping to build a stronger future for Pittsburgh.

The 2026 Bright Young People honorees span a wide range of fields and disciplines. They include Madison Baxter of the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation; Cole Eskridge of the Community College of Allegheny County; and Kristin Hawk and Bonnie Ramone, tattoo artists and co-owners of The Kindred Spirit Tattoo Co. Also recognized are Connor Hayes of Lynch Carpenter LLP and Dr. Raagini Jawa of UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

The list continues with Kitt Knight of SWOON Alliance, Karen Lue of Neighborhood Allies, and Iris Ryn Olson of the University of Pittsburgh. Rounding out the cohort are Alexandra Papernick, a University of Pittsburgh student and volunteer with PFLAG Pittsburgh; Ryn Parks of BB Thriftin’ and Ryn’s Creative Studios; and Joey Young, drag performer and Miss Continental Newcomer 2025.

The “Bright Young People” name draws inspiration from a group of 1920s and 1930s socialites known for their influence on arts and culture. Allies has reinterpreted the concept to highlight individuals making tangible contributions to their communities today.

To celebrate the 2026 honorees, Allies will host the Bright Young People Dance Party at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17. The event will feature performances from Pittsburgh-based DJs Himboza, Formosa, and HUNY XO. Tickets are $15.
