LGBTQ Pittsburgh Shines in City Paper ‘Best Of’ 2022 Reader Poll

The Pittsburgh City Paper released their always-anticipated “Best of Pittsburgh” annual issue this morning and LGBTQ Pittsburgh people, places, and things shined. You can view the full City Paper Best of here.

Central Outreach Wellness Center won 2nd best health advocacy organization and SisTers PGH won 2nd best social justice organization.

Here are more of the LGBTQ highlights:

Best LGBTQ Bars

  3. P Town

The Blue Moon also won 3rd best bar to drink alone, 3rd best pickup bar, and 3rd best bar bathroom; 5801 also won best trivia night; The Real Luck Café (Lucky’s) picked up 3rd best strip club in the ‘Burgh; and P Town won 3rd best bouncer with Thomas Ross.

Best LGBTQ Owned Businesses

  1. Leona’s Ice Cream
  2. Pigeon Bagels
  3. Square Café

Leona’s also won 3rd best ice cream; Square Café also picked up 3rd best brunch and 3rd best gluten free menu; Sleepy Hollow Handmade won 2nd best e-retailer; and Maude’s Paperwing Gallery won 3rd best e-retailer and 3rd best psychic/tarot reader with Indigo Baloch.

The historic Inn on the Mexican War Streets won 2nd best bed and breakfast and the AuStella Pet Parlor in Millvale won 2nd best pet groomer.

Other standout personalities were JoeMyGosh and Jaxa Froot won best comedy troupe, QBurgh’s own Chrissy Costa won 3rd best comedian, the renowned Phat Man Dee won best jazz artists and 2nd best humanitarian, the Gay She’s won 2nd best electronic group, and Dr. Stacy Lane won 2nd best lifestyle influencer.

Honorable mention: Sharon Needles’ career came in 3rd for “failure to launch”.
