From Pride Celebration to Legislative Action

State Rep. Abigail Salisbury.

On behalf of the 34th Legislative District, it is my honor to welcome 2026 Pittsburgh Pride with the QBurgh family.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I love all that Pittsburgh Pride represents. It’s a true celebration of the arts, culture, events and camaraderie that brings us together. From this year’s Picniq and Pride Prom to the annual Pride Parade, I look forward to seeing West Park adorned in rainbow colors this June. I also appreciate both our family at QBurgh and the Pride Guide for making this year’s Pride celebrations even more accessible for everyone in the Pittsburgh area and beyond.

In the House, we are constantly making strides on LGBTQ+ legislation. We are continuing the crucial work to pass The Fairness Act, which aims to update current laws to prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. Passage of The Fairness Act would bring Pennsylvania in line with other states, adding more protections for our community.

Additionally, I recently co-sponsored a resolution recognizing March 31, 2026 as “Transgender Day of Visibility” in Pennsylvania, celebrating the transgender community’s contributions and encouraging transgender individuals throughout our great state.

I support everyone participating in this year’s Pittsburgh Pride and am also glad to support QBurgh’s mission of providing up to date news and information on LGBTQ+ topics. In a time when we continue to fight for our future, your impassioned voices are invaluable. I wish all a very happy Pride 2026.

Sincerely yours,

Abigail Salisbury
State Representative

District 34
