Regarding the holiday of Purim, G🎭D spake, “When things seem most bleak at the end of your coldest season, write for each other a play satirizing the abuses of empire, and thus you shall not fall into despair! Best if you make it musical.” And the theater gays said “it is incumbent upon us for all time, oh Merciful One.”

And thus, your friends at Ratzon have pooled their creativity energies through this long cold winter to bring you a timely Purim Spiel and fabulous Klezmer set, complete with Yiddish folk dancing lessons!

Ratzon’s Purim celebration is a benefit for Casa San José (@casasanjosepgh), so please join in making a donation and/or finding a way to volunteer. We’ve been here before, we know how the story goes, and together we can write a different ending. Tickets are pay what you can, cash and card will both be accepted at the door. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Accessibility: The space has minimal door lip upon entry and flat surfaces inside the theater. There are two gender-neutral ADA accessible bathrooms. There is limited ADA accessible parking directly in front of the theater and additional parking at 224 W 8th Ave and 209 W 8th Ave. Please wear a high-quality mask (N95, KN95, or KF94) you’re not actively eating or drinking. We’ll have extras to share if needed. If you’re sick, are testing positive for COVID or any other airborne illness, and/or have had close contact (e.g., a housemate) with COVID or any other airborne illness, please sit this one out.
