Summary

This Fall/Winter 2025 issue of QBurgh celebrates the LGBTQ+ community in Pittsburgh, marking five years since the magazine’s inception. It highlights a variety of topics, including:

  • Community Milestones & Events: QBurgh celebrates its fifth anniversary, and the Pittsburgh Pride Choir marks its 40th year with a name change. AIDS Free Pittsburgh also commemorates 10 years of working to end the HIV epidemic. The issue includes a calendar of queer events in Pittsburgh for October, November, and December 2025.
  • Artist Spotlights: Features include Mils “M.J.” James, an actor, singer, dancer, and director returning to Pittsburgh to give back to the community; Joey Young, Miss Blue Moon 2025 and Miss Continental Newcomer 2025; and Lilly Kubit, a multidisciplinary artist.
  • Interviews: Michael Buzzelli interviews Joe King, the host and producer of “Match Gayme” and “Wheel of Drag,” and designer Brian David, who creates outfits for drag queens.
  • Current Issues: The magazine discusses the “Queens of the Dead” horror film and a bipartisan bill seeking to reinstate national suicide hotline services for LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Local Businesses and Services: Advertisements and mentions of local organizations like Allies for Health + Wellbeing, Hugh Lane Wellness, Dollar Bank, Dreams of Hope, Pittsburgh Equality Center, Shepherd Wellness Community, Metro Community Health Center, Marked Moon Ink Tattoos & Piercings, Brian’s Mobile Workshop, PFLAG Pittsburgh, and Central Outreach Wellness Center are included.
  • Entertainment: David Archuleta, former American Idol star, returns to Pittsburgh for his “Earthly Delights Music Tour.” The issue also covers Kori King’s move to Pittsburgh and her upcoming “Kiss Me Deadly” tour with Lydia Butthole Kollins.
