SUMMARY:Stefan Weiner in the Roots Cellar (Ramblin’ Folk)
DESCRIPTION:Calliope presents: Stefan Weiner\nCalliope’s Ramblin’ Folk Series features regionally & nationally touring musicians at the Roots Cellar.\nStefan Weiner is an NYC-based queer indie folk singer-songwriter. He mixes the immediacy of classic songwriting with the intimacy of a quiet conversation with a friend. In his 2026 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon\, he won the Battle of the Instant Songwriters competition with a very gay song about the World Cup. No matter what music Stefan is making\, queerness and catharsis are always at the center. \nStefan’s work has received critical acclaim in publications like Forbes\, The Advocate\, American Songwriter\, among many others. He has also shared the story of his journey through medical mystery and back to music on various podcasts such as This Is Actually Happening and RISK! \nThrough his music\, Stefan creates space for people to access a deeper vulnerability. He is open and honest about his experiences with chronic pain\, love\, loss\, and his queer journey. Audience members often approach Stefan after shows to share stories from their own lives and tell him how much they connected to a certain song or how a lyric brought them to tears. Watch for Stefan’s next full-length album\, coming in 2027. \nWith opener\, Skye Burkett\nSkye is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Pittsburgh\, Pennsylvania. Her conscious lyrics reveal her own story of love and pain\, while she journeys to find purpose and meaning. Skye’s live performances cultivate an intimate and genre-bending experience. Her music style is eclectic but pulls elements from soul\, folk\, and pop. Skye credits her nostalgic quality to her early influences\, such as The Beatles\, CSNY\, Ray LaMontagne\, and Jason Mraz. She strives to inspire others by sharing music from her most authentic and vulnerable self. See more here.
