The Laramie Project

February 27 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Experience the raw, real, and powerful story that shook a town—and changed a nation.

The Theatre Factory is proud to present The Laramie Project, the groundbreaking documentary-style play by Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project, running Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 27-Mar. 1 at The Theatre Factory in Trafford. This compelling production brings to life the voices of the people of Laramie, Wyoming, in the wake of the brutal 1998 hate crime that took the life of Matthew Shepard.

Through firsthand interviews and deeply personal accounts, The Laramie Project examines the impact of violence, intolerance, and hope in a small American town. During the run of the show, The Theatre Factory will be raising funds to support Dreams of Hope, a local queer youth arts organization that serves young people in the Pittsburgh area.

Join us for this moving theatrical event that continues to inspire and ignite conversations.

The Theatre Factory’s production of The Laramie Project is directed by Matt Mlynarski. The cast of eight performers play over 60 roles. The cast includes Ethan Davis Butler, Matt Dudley, Olivia Hartle, Maggie Horton, Rebekah Hukill, Katie Kerr, David Nackman, and Jeremy Poynton. Erin Cochran is the production understudy and dramaturg. The creative and production team includes associate director Rebekah Little and production stage manager Zach Gilkey.

The Laramie Project runs for two weekends at The Theatre Factory in Trafford (235 Cavitt Avenue): Friday through Sunday, February 21-23, 2025, and Thursday through Saturday, February 27-March 1, 2025. Performances on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are at 7:30 pm, and the Sunday matinee is at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 online or $25 at the door, with a $5 discount on Thursday.
