Special collab event! Square, line, and partner dancing to live music by Howling Mob, hosted by Steel City Squares & 412Step.
7-8pm — Doors + potluck + open old-time/country jam
8-11pm — Dancing!
Band: Howling Mob
Square Dance Caller: Dave Hauver (Washington DC)
Beginner- and family-friendly! No partner necessary!
This month we’re hosting a special community collaboration, with 412Step bringing line and partner dancing to the floor. The night will alternate between SCS’s traditional Appalachian square dance to old-time tunes, 412Step’s line dance, and two-step and waltz to country music. All dances will be taught and no experience is necessary!
Bring your own drinks, inc. water, and something for the potluck if you’d like.
There will be an open old-time (plus maybe country this month?) jam before the dance from 7-8 so feel free to come early and bring instruments or just listen!
$15 suggested donation at the door to cover the cost of the space and pay the band and caller. No one will be turned away for lack of funds! Children 12 & under are free.
